The foundation went in this week. Lots going on at one time. Next we will be back-filling and setting up temp electric service. The electric run is free because of an agreement between the developer and the co-op. That's a good thing otherwise I'd have a $1200 bill to run copper.
The house looks small!!! Its hard to judge size at this stage, but I know its right. Front porch is bigger then expected since they had a bump it out another foot because of the sandy soil. 30'x8'... looks like we can fit an outside couch and table.
The cabinets were also order this week (yes early... locked in on pricing).
This is a current picture of the creek...Sure is nice to see some green!!!!

Digging starts this week
The boys were out at the lot starting the big dig before the backhoe shows up later this week. I cut down a million trees, 38 or so that were 40+ foot pine trees. The old 18" craftsman chain held up well, but it may need to retire to the easy life of cutting down smaller trees.
The foundation will be in this month and framing should start early to mid may

Building once again
Welcome to our blog documenting the construction of our new house in Eau Claire, WI. We've done this process once before, but we are now a family and our bones are a little older.
This is our dream lot overlooking Lowes Creek. We even have an "island" on the other side. We have 2 acres that we know the kids will love to run around and play on. We plan on spending many hot days in the creek (the creek is cold!) and many winter days sledding down the back hill.
Let the fun begin!
House drawing.... may be some minor changes. Yes it looks just like the last house we built. We loved the look of our last house, it was just not the right location.
Backyard over looking Lowes Creek (waiting for things to get green) 2 acres with "island"
