Skid Steer Time

Kim and I rented a skid steer last weekend and scraped 1-2 feet off the front yard.  We also started some landscaping, but quickly realized how little 3 ton of rock is.
"Wait...   I'm not ready for you yet!!!"
I spoke with the insulator the other day and told him I should be ready mid week for insulation, he replied with just give him three days notice.. Alright then.  To my surprise they showed up a few days later and started there work.  No electric inspection and plumbing still left.  I immediately told him to stop.  Good thing I stopped by during lunch.   I expect them to start up again today Friday 19th.

This weekend I'll frame the basement and have the house 100% ready for insulation on all three levels.

Drywallers are scheduled for the first week of September.  Then the gratifying work starts.

... and we may even have a septic system in next week along with a pressure tank for the well.

Oh and electric inspection pass without any conditions, or comments (and only one shock to the back of the leg).  So all that went great with the exception of the $700 worth of newly required AFCI breakers.  Normal breakers $5.88, required breakers as of January 2010 in Wisconsin.. $39.99.  My electric budget went out the door $2000 bucks ago.  Buy hey we have spot lights around the house for art work... aren't we fancy.

Other then the above the budget is looking pretty good.

Fresh paint - 32 hours later!

Fresh paint...   We just have a little trim in the back and the screen porch to paint.  We ended up with two really good days for painting (I little hot).

Whats next...
The plumbing is going in (finally) and I have about a full day or two worth of electric work.  Electric is taking much longer then the last house, I think it is because of all the separate rooms on the main floor.  The goal is to have drywall in the first week of September (or before - contractor dependent).   I also need to finish up the basement rough in for the insulation (thanks Heath for the air nailer!)
